Infant Concierge/Untangling Motherhood

Something's not right...

You knew having a baby would be hard. But is it supposed to be this hard?

Everyone else seems to know what they are doing. Why can't you figure it out?

What aren't they telling us?

No one understands what I'm going through.

My life has been turned inside out, and my partner barely noticed.

I read all the books, followed all the mommy pages. Nothing is working.

What am I doing wrong?

You know that being a mom can be joyful

You've felt those beautiful moments, but you want more. You want to know that you're doing a good job. That your family is happy, healthy, and strong.

The secret to a joyful, resilient family?

Investing in yourself.

You don't need a personal trainer, a billion dollars, or a mommy makeover. You just need to decide that you are worthy of a little of the time, effort, and resources you are pouring into those around you every day.

We've believed the lie that our struggles are a personal failure, and whatever is missing is our own fault. It's time to do things differently and shine the light on our experiences, in order to choose what we want to bring into the future and what needs to be left behind.

Untangling Motherhood

is a six week journey into your experience of motherhood, building sustainable joy by examining your assumptions, extending compassion to yourself, and finding creative and practical ways to incorporate self-care and community.

As a whole, society is failing us as mothers. We have moved away from the traditional support that has surrounded many mothers throughout history. We can’t go back to how things used to be (and for many reasons we wouldn’t want to!) but we can move forward to create a better parenting experience for ourselves and our children.

The Untangling Motherhood Journey

Receive four video modules, released weekly in bite-sized chunks, with two additional weeks built in for reflection and connection.

  • Week 1: Identifying Your Assumptions – Building awareness of the beliefs that shape your experience and how they affect your feelings and actions.

  • Week 2: Diving Deeper – Getting free of the stories that hold us back.

  • Week 3: Community Zoom Call and W.I.N. Time - Take a break from new content to focus on "What I Need": Rewatch or catch up on lessons, implement what you are learning, or step away to take care of other responsibilities.

  • Week 4: Sustainable Self-Care In Action – Discovering creative ways to integrate self-care into your routine without feeling like it’s just another chore.

  • Week 5: Building Community – Discussing ways to create supportive connections and lean on your community in order to continue moving towards the person you want to be.

  • Week 6: Community Zoom Call and W.I.N. Time - Wrapping up our time together with reflections and support.

Frequently asked questions

You’ve got questions. We’ve got answers.

Is Untangling Motherhood only for new moms?

The Untangling journey is for all moms who are feeling lost, alone, or uncertain of themselves along the way. The lessons and suggestions are designed to be accessible even to moms experiencing the intensity of parenting a newborn, but moms with older children who still feel like something is missing in their experience can also uncover those pieces and find support here.

I’m overwhelmed with juggling childcare and other life demands, how can I possibly take on this course when I can’t even find time to pee some days?

That feeling of being completely overwhelmed by motherhood is exactly what the Untangling journey is designed to alleviate. You can easily access and listen to the lessons as  you hold your baby, go for a walk, or fold the laundry. If social media or Dr. Google is making you feel anxious and inadequate, these gentle and reassuring messages will help you feel seen, not stressed. Not only will they bring you a deeper understanding of why this is so hard (hint- it’s not you), you will also find dozens of ways to feel better in the moment and in the long run. And when you feel better, you are able to be more present and connected to your little one. Maternal mental health is infant mental health.

Do I need to complete all the modules in four weeks?

This course is an opportunity for you to practice your commitment to yourself and figure out what that looks like as you navigate the demands of motherhood. You are encouraged to be sensitive to your own needs in the moment, whether that is to prioritize the lessons or attend to other demands. The course is designed for flexibility, with two extra weeks built in to catch up, implement what you are learning, or take a break from the content. This is your journey, and you get to decide what it looks like. No matter how much you let things slip, you are still worthy of diving back in whenever and however you need to. We’re here for you!

As a member of the Untangling community, you get lifetime access to the course materials, including any future updates or additions. Two group connection calls are included with each registration, and you can join later calls for an additional fee.

I love this idea, but I can’t afford to purchase the course right now. What can I do?

As moms, we often absorb the message that our needs and desires should take a backseat to those of everyone else that we are taking care of. The truth is, we are just as deserving of being healthy and happy as anyone else, and our families will only benefit from our own commitment to growth. If the Untangling journey is resonating with you, I encourage you to value yourself enough to find a way to make it work. Making the financial commitment to this course helps to seal and reinforce the mental, emotional, and time commitment to yourself that you need in order to realize the changes you crave.

In cases of true financial hardship, you can email me at heather@infantconcierge.com to discuss alternative options.

Why Untangling Motherhood?

I created this course after struggling with feelings of isolation, exhausting, and anxiety following the birth of my first child. During the past 15 years, I have seen over and over again how poorly our culture prepares people for parenthood.

We can all relate to the image of parents bringing their baby home from the hospital to an empty house with the message “You got this! See you in six weeks!” The more I have learned about the history of motherhood, babies, and families, the more I have seen the problems inherent in leaving new parents alone to fend for themselves.

The forces that brought this about have built over the decades, but now more and more moms are talking honestly about their experiences and coming to the realization that they are not the only ones who feel like something is missing, that maybe their struggles aren’t a personal failure. It's time to join the conversation about where we go from here.

If you want to make more space for joy, kindness, and support without the mom guilt and overwhelm, be sure to join us in Untangling Motherhood!

Next session starts Oct. 7!
